The Omanhene of Ejisu Traditional Area in the Ashanti Region, Nana Afranie Okesse IV, has implored the management of Ghana Commercial Bank Limited to consider the possibility of expanding its business and banking services in the traditional area.
He said having operated for about 48 years as the first and the reputable bank in the area it would be beneficial for the for the Bank to strengthen its presence with its numerous products and services.
Nana Okesse who made the call during a courtesy call on him by a delegation of the Bank, pledged to offer a large tract of land at a prime area within the Ejisu township for the Bank to construct a new and modern banking edifice.
The delegation led by Mr Kojo Addae-Mensah, Chief Operating Officer (COO), was at Ejisu to commission the new premises of the Bank.
Other members of the delegation included Mr. Emmanuel Kojo Yevenyo, Head of Branch Operations and Business Support Department, the Kumasi Area Manager, Mr George Ackorful and Mr. Dwomo Dua-Agyemang, Branch Manager of the GCB Ejisu branch.
Mr Addae-Mensah used the opportunity to thank the chiefs and people of Ejisu for hosting GCB for 48 years.
He said Ejisu was a community with vast business potential and gave the assurance that the Bank would undertake a feasibility study and based on the outcome Management would take a decision.
He said Management of the Bank would foster a closer relationship with the traditional authority so as to enhance the development of the area.
