GCB Bank has donated an amount of GH¢10,000.00 to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture towards the 33rd National Farmers’ Day celebration.
The Corporate and Brand Communication Manager of the Bank, Mr. Emmanuel Kojo Kwarteng made the presentation on behalf of the Management of the Bank.
Mr. Kwarteng explained that the Bank donation is in line with its objective of supporting indigenous businesses and farmers since its inception in 1953.
He said GCB operates throughout the fishing and farming communities in Ghana and that by extending support to the organization of the National Farmers’ Day celebration Ghanaian farmers would be the ultimate beneficiaries.
Dr Sagre Bambangi, a Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture in charge of crops and the Member of Parliament for Walewale, who received the cheque expressed his appreciation to the Bank for its continuous support towards the National Farmers’ Day celebration and other activities of the ministry, farmers, fishermen and the agriculture sector of the country.
He gave the assurance that the money would be used for its purpose to help the farming industry.
Dr Bambangi urged other corporate organizations to emulate the good example of GCB.
