GCB Bank has been adjudged the best compliant bank in Africa at the just ended Compliance Awards held in Accra.
Six banks in Africa contested for the awards and GCB was judged the top bank in compliance.
GCB’s win comes at the back of the quantum leap in compliance operations the Bank has witnessed over the past years.
The award was organized by the Association of Certified Compliance Professionals Africa (ACCPA).
It brought together compliant professionals within the banking sector from Malawi, South Africa, Swaziland, Liberia and Ghana.
Managing Director Mr. Anselm Ray Sowah applauded the Compliance team for their sterling work and performance.
He urged the team to educate staff on issues bordering on compliance.
This he said can be done by conducting seminars and workshops to train and sensitize staff to see the value and importance of compliance in every aspect of the Bank’s operations.
Following the assumption of UT Bank and Capital Banks by GCB; Mr. Sowah tasked the compliance team to play a center role in the integration process as staff of the two Banks join GCB and for them to have an appreciation of how things are done the right way.
Present at the ceremony was the Head of Compliance Mr. Osman Abdulai, Head of Human Resource, Mr. Francis Danyi and staff from the Compliance Department.
