GCB Bank has supported government’s commitment to engage and involve Ghanaians living in the diaspora towards the developmental agenda of the country.
This year’s diaspora summit which is on the theme. Development, Opportunity and Value, brought together Ghanaians living in different countries across the globe.
President Nana Akufo-Addo who was the Guest of Honour emphasized the critical role and invaluable contributions that Ghanaians in the Diaspora plays in Ghana’s economy, President Akufo-Addo said government would expand opportunities for Ghanaians living abroad to enable them to participate in national discourse and the development of the country.
The president’s speech assured the diasporas the ambitious programmes the government has outlined to stimulate growth, create jobs, lower the cost of doing business, and make Ghana the most business friendly economy in Africa.
President Akufo-Addo, assured Ghanaians in the Diaspora of his government’s determination to provide the needed funding to enable the Electoral Commission (EC) to implement the Representation of the Peoples Amendment Law (ROPAL) in future elections.
He promised the Diaspora community that government would revisit the law that prevented Ghanaians with dual citizenship from holding public offices and some key positions in the country.
GCB Bank took the opportunity to introduce it’s “Link to Home” product and other banking products to Ghanaians living in the diaspora.
Link 2 home is an account that helps people living in the diaspora to maintain a account with GCB. The account can be opened in cedis and other major currencies.
It affords account holders to use various electronic banking products, namely ATMS, GCB Mastercards and Visa to make payments and purchases abroad.
