GCB Bank Limited has allocated GH¢1.0 Billion in support of the “One District One Factory” project propounded by the Government of Ghana.

The Bank will also offer an array of price concessions for businesses that will operate under the policy initiative.

 

The Managing Director of the Bank, Mr Anselm Ray Sowah, who announced the package explained that “with 161 branches across the country and with presence in every region and most districts, GCB is the Bank to cradle the “One District One Factory initiative.”

Speaking at a forum organized by the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce  on the One District One Factory policy initiative, Mr Sowah said GCB was set up to provide financial intermediation services for national development.

“It is important that support is holistic across the entire value chain for both large and small businesses,” Mr Sowah said.

He said the Bank has designed a special package for customers operating under the initiative.

 

These include the setting up of a dedicated unit to drive the programme, with unrivalled experience and expertise, partnering with respected consultants to provide advisory services to develop business proposals from prospective investors, cost of which will be picked by the Bank.

 

As the recognised leader in SME financing, the MD said, GCB would expand its periodic workshops and clinics to build the capacity at the district level.

He said clients of the Bank would be given dedicated relationship managers to guide them through their business decisions.

 

“Combined with our specially packaged, competitively priced financial products and services for the “One District One Factory” initiative, businesses, especially SMEs working with dedicated relationship managers will be afforded the opportunity to become tomorrow’s giant corporates.”

 

He encouraged members and non-members of the Ghana Chamber of Commerce to register with the special desks at GCB Head Office and branches so as to take adavantage of the partnership for transformation of Ghana.

 

The Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Allan Kyerematen, expressed optimism that the One District One Factory initiative would impact positively on the economy.

He commended GCB Bank for the enormous support towards the success of the project.
