Ghana Commercial Bank Limited has opened a second branch in Sunyani at a brief but impressive ceremony.

The new branch which is located around the Nana Bosoma Market has been designated as Sunyani Market branch by the Bank.

In an address, Ms Joyce Atta-Krah, General Manager, Retail Banking, reiterated the Bank's objective and mission to make banking convenient and exciting by bringing banking to the doorstep hence the opening of more branches.

Ms Atta-Krah who also spoke about the re-branding of GCB said the transformation that is taking place in the bank through the opening of new and ultra modern branches and other initiatives are meant to serve customers better and to position the Bank positively in the minds of the public.

She said the new branch would basically serve the following purposes:

Make the Bank accessible to the people and businesses around the Sunyani market area;

The Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Mr Kwadwo Nyamekye-Marfo, who was the guest of honour, said the opening of a second branch in Sunyani was long overdue in view of the pressure on the existing branch.

He thanked the Bank on behalf of the people for supporting the region financially during the celebration of the region's 50th anniversary. The Bank donated GH¢5,000.00 to the golden jubilee celebrations of Brong Ahafo Region.
