GCB Bank Limited (GCB) has donated 12 desktop computers, 12 Uninterrupted Power Services (UPS) and their accessories valued at GHC45,000.00 to the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) in Accra.
In support of the IT expansion programme of the College and as part of the Bank’s corporate social responsibility, the presentation was made by Mr Robert Adamu, Acting Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Bank.
He highlighted the healthy relationship that has existed between GCB and the College since 1976 and said GCB is aware of the transformation and expansion of the College.
“As a major bank with a branch located in Burma Camp with a focus on providing banking services to members of the Ghana Armed Forces, GCB under its CSR programmes makes provision for various Units of the Ghana Armed Forces,” the acting COO said.Mr Adamu identified with the transformation programme of GAFCSC and said GCB is also going through a transformation exercise with the view to positioning it as a world class bank.
“With the donation of these computers, we believe teaching and learning especially distance learning programmes in the College will be enhanced”, Mr Adamu added.
Air Vice Marshal Issifu Sakib Kadri, Commandant of GAFCSC who received the computers, said the donation will assist the College to achieve the standards and objectives it has set itself.
“We are very grateful and appreciative of this donation”, he said.
