GCB Bank has donated assorted drugs worth GH¢150,000.00 to three major hospitals in the Accra Metropolis for the treatment of the flood victims.
The Police Hospital, Ridge Hospital and Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital received GH¢50,000.00 worth of assorted drugs each. The Chief Operating Officer of the Bank, Mr. Samuel Sarpong, presented the drugs to representatives of the three hospitals.
Dr. Mahamadu Seidu Zakariah, the Deputy Commissioner of Police from Police Hospital, Dr. Albert Paintsil, consultant plastic surgeon at Korle-Bu and Dr. Obeng-Apori, medical director of Ridge Hospital were the representatives from the hospitals.
DCOP Zakariah explained that, this is an excellent approach in order to help the flood victims. This is because, the victims had to purchase medicines and medical consumables from pharmacy shops for initial treatment. He said the donation has helped to solve that problem. The other representatives also thanked the Bank for its support.
Last Thursday, the Bank donated GH¢ 50,000.00 worth of assorted drugs to the 37 Military Hospital for the same purpose and was presented by the Managing Director of the Bank, Mr. Simon Dornoo to the Acting Commanding Officer, Colonel Yeboah Agyapong on behalf of the hospital.
