A Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Mrs. Mona Helen Quartey, has joined the Board of GCB Bank Limited as a director.
Mrs. Quartey, who holds a Bsc. (Hons) degree in Development Planning from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and a Masters in Business Administration (Finance) from Dalhousie University, Canada, is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in Treasury, Risk Management and Corporate Finance with close to 25 years of Banking and Mining experience.
The Deputy Minister has experience in equity and debt raising for sponsors and investors across Africa, Europe and North America. Her landmark transaction involved a vital role in the Initial Public Offer of Ashanti Goldfields, as Group Treasurer, on the London, Ghana and, subsequently, the New York Stock Exchanges (1994/97).
She has worked with Ecobank (Ghana) Ltd, Ashanti Goldfields Company Ltd (now Anglogold Ashanti), Citibank NA and BVM Financial Advisory Services ltd.
Mrs. Quartey currently serves on the Boards of Golden Star Resources Ghana Ltd (Wassa & Bogoso), Ghana Water Company Ltd., SSNIT, Ghana Investment Promotion Council (GIPC), SIMNET Gh. Ltd, Green Pastures & Still Waters Ltd and BVM Finance Advisory Service Ltd.
She is a highly effective leader and professional with tested execution and strong management skills.
