Ladies of Ghana Commercial Bank Ltd. (GCB) have marked International Women's Day with special service to customers across the Bank's 158 branches across the country.
Under the theme "The GCB Lady-Ready For Change" an adaptation of the international theme "Inspiring Change" wore elegant traditional slit and kaba while they displayed the best in customer service on the front-line. The ladies adapted theme is also in tandem with the wave of transformation going on in the Bank.
International Women's day is celebrated on March 8th annually in recognition of the achievements of women. This year the day fell on a Saturday but it was observed at the Bank on March 7th.
Speaking on the observation of the Day, the Head of Consumer Banking of GCB, Mrs. Doris Wunu urged women in the Bank to be advocates of change for the advancement of women.
Â
This was when the six-member executive of the Ladies Association called on her as one of the senior women in executive management.
She said GCB Ladies make up 50% of the Bank's work force and they are at the frontline which makes them responsible for customer service and customer interaction. As such GCB Ladies should be ready to spearhead the change needed by the Bank in the development of excellent relationships with customers.
Â
"We should own the change process and communicate it like our own. It is only then that we can truly say "THE GCB LADY-READY FOR CHANGE."
Some Customers who commented on the nature of the celebration at GCB said the environment was very welcoming and they really enjoyed the experience..
