A high powered team from GCB led by Deputy Managing Director (Ops) ,Mr Samuel Sarpong has met with 700 soldiers of Ghanabatt 10 who are billed for peace keeping in Liberia for the next six months, at the Bundase Military Training Camp.
In a welcoming address, the 2IC for the Camp Major Commey expressed appreciation of the officials for addressing the banking needs, challenges and expectations of the Battalion.
Mr. Aboagye, GCB Manager for Burma Camp Branch took the soldiers through the various products and services on offer at the Bank. He said apart from the traditional savings and current accounts, GCB has in tune with modern trends in banking introduced, Royal Banking (Private Banking), Internet Banking (Commernet Plus) , GCB MasterCard, Zero forex and foreign accounts all of which are designed to satisfy the particular needs of the various categories of customers such as soldiers.
Mr. Aboagye urged them to take advantage of Commernet Plus which allows the soldiers to transact banking business such as: the viewing of one's accounts, the transfer of funds from one account to the other even while they are on peace-keeping outside the country via the internet.
He also reminded the soldiers about the availability of loan facilities that have been fashioned out for the benefit of soldiers and said provided applications are technically correct accessing a loan from GCB is swift for the military.
Mr. Aboagye said GCB, with the introduction of its e-banking products is working conscientiously to satisfy its customers across the length and breadth of the country through its 149 fully networked branch.
Answering questions on why the Bank's systems frequently go off, the DMD (Ops.) said by the end of April this year such occurrences will be over.
He mentioned the support that the Bank has given to the Military in the past as sponsorships for WASSA for the various divisions of the Armed Forces with the
outstanding one being the support towards the building of offices for the Forces Pay Office at Burma Camp.
GCB has embarked on a re-branding exercise where banking halls are being opened up and refurbished for the comfort of customers.
Product and services brochures were distributed to the soldiers.
