
A delegation from the Community Library & Museum Board, Dzelukope from the Anlo Traditional Council (Anlo Dukor) led by Co-Chairman, Togbi Joachim Acolatse Paramount Chief of Kedzi has paid a courtesy call on the Managing Director of GCB Bank PLC, Farihan Alhassan, to seek the Bank’s support for a cultural and youth development initiative in the Volta Region.
The delegation explained that the project is aimed at preserving the region’s cultural heritage while empowering the younger generation through education, innovation and skills development. It seeks to address the lack of a cultural preservation centre and a well-resourced library in the region.
The proposed facility will include a cultural preservation centre, a modern library with physical and digital resources, and an innovation hub to promote digital literacy, coding, entrepreneurship and creative skills. Meeting rooms, exhibition areas and outdoor learning spaces will also be provided to support community engagement and tourism.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Togbi Joachim Acolatse noted that GCB Bank’s strong record in education and youth empowerment made the Bank a natural partner. He added that the project will be governed by a structured team comprising traditional rulers, senior citizens and local authority representatives, with a dedicated financial board to ensure accountability.

Members of the delegation included Siegfried Sedziafa, Board Secretary; Togbi Haxormene IV, Member; Mama Dasewa II, Member; Mawuko Dzikunu, Member; and Freeman Gobah, Member.
In his response, Mr. Alhassan commended the initiative and described it as timely, noting that investment in education remains critical to national development. He announced that as an initial show of commitment, GCB Bank would support the project with bags of cement, while Management engages internally to determine further support.
Also present at the meeting were senior GCB officials, including Abraham Ferguson Yahaya, Chief of Staff; Peter Yao Bosrotsi, Manager, People & Culture; Truedy Osae, General Counsel, Legal Services; Raymond Senayah, Manager, HR Governance & Operation; Seyram, Dickson Tsidi, Head of Cash Operations; Seyome Lawluvi, Head, International Trade; and Prosper Komla Akamah, Credit Risk Officer, Risk Measurement Department; who expressed interest in supporting development initiatives in the Volta Region.
