
As part of its annual thanksgiving activities, GCB Bank PLC, led by the Executive Head of Retail Banking, Mr. Sina Kamagate, paid a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu.
Speaking on behalf of the Managing Director, Mr. Farihan Alhassan, Mr. Kamagate explained that the visit was undertaken to check on the well-being of the National Chief Imam, provide an update on the prayers and blessings received in the previous year, and to request continued prayers for the Bank in the year ahead.
Mr. Kamagate formally sought the National Chief Imam’s permission for GCB Bank to use the Central Mosque, Kanda, as the venue for the Islamic Thanksgiving Service and the Quran recitation session. He further requested that the National Chief Imam nominate a representative to lead the Quran recitation during the service.
As a gesture of goodwill and appreciation, the GCB Bank delegation presented a cash donation together with assorted drinks to the National Chief Imam. Mr. Kamagate also assured him that, with the holy month of Ramadan approaching, GCB Bank would return during the period to further demonstrate its support for the Islamic community.
In his response, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu expressed appreciation to GCB Bank for the visit and the kind gesture. He prayed for continued success for the Bank, asking Allah to elevate its leadership, grant them strength, and increase the Bank’s achievements. He also underscored the importance of peace, harmony and mutual respect among people of different faiths, noting that despite religious differences, humanity shares a common origin.
The GCB Bank delegation included the Chief Marketing, Communications and Customer Experience Officer, Ms. Cynthia Ofori-Dwomfuo; the Head of Personal Banking, Ms. Margaret Obimpeh, as well as other senior officials of the Bank.
